About Us

Our Society

Woodville Art and History (formerly named the Woodville Pioneer Museum) is an incorporated society of about 90 members interested in fostering the arts throughout the Tararua District and promoting the history of Woodville.

Our six annual successful art exhibitions, which were triggered by the painter Lindauer’s legacy, led us to change our name and more actively promote the arts. We now have permanent art galleries in the main street of Woodville.

We are also committed to preserving the stories around the history of Woodville and districts and we are planning a major exhibition for 2025, the 150th anniversary of the formation of the town in 1875.

We are always looking for volunteers and new members. Our contact number is 0220973662.
